My Position

DISCLAIMER: I'm not a prophet, nor do I claim to receive divine revelation from God. I'm just a believer who believe in the Bible and the Quran and try to understand the Books of God with my common sense. My views may contain errors, but I pray to God everyday to show me the right path. 

The following article is my current position regarding religion:

1. There is One True God in the universe. This One God had sent His messengers to mankind to acknowledge Him as the Lord of the Universe.

2. Some of His prophets and messengers are Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad.

3. Some of His Books are the Torah and the Quran.

4. According to the Quran, there are four communities that may enter to heaven; those are the believers (the followers of prophet Muhammad), the Jews, the Nazarenes, and the Sabians (Q 2:62 and 5:69).

5. In my view, the Sabians (or some say the Converts) were the people that once were called the God-fearers or God-fearing people or the proselytes; but now they are commonly known as the Noahides, that is the people who accept the Seven Laws of Noah.

6. The Nazarenes were the Jewish Christians, but now they are commonly known as the Messianic Judaism (or some of them who are non-trinitarian Messianic Jews).

7. The Jews, the Nazarenes, and the God-fearers are the same ummah as the muslims. We all worship the One True God, that is God of Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, and Jacob.

8. There's only one kalimah shahadah, that is, There is no god but Allah; or there is no god but the God [of Abraham].

9. Don't get me wrong. Muhammad is a messenger of God, but I believe that there is no need for muslims nowadays to bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of God. After all, we don't know Prophet Muhammad in person.

10. Jesus is not God. Jesus is God's servant and one of His messengers and prophets.

11. Most muslims are unaware that they unintentionally "worship" Prophet Muhammad. For example, they make mistakes in their prayer when they say, "Assalamu'alaika ayyuhannabiyyu wa rahmatullahi ..." (peace be upon you, O Prophet...). This sentence indicates that most muslims pray to Prophet Muhammad besides Allah rather than pray to God alone. The correct way to say this tahiyat is to erase the prophet as the second person, (we should call the prophet as the third person instead), so we should say something like "Assalamu alan Nabi wa rahmatullahi ..." (peace be upon the Prophet ...). The similar case also applies to John 20:28, where Thomas said, "My Lord and my God". If one believes that Thomas said this words directly to Jesus, then he/she is kafir since Jesus is not God. But if one believes that Thomas said this word indirectly to God in Heaven, as indicated in the use of nominative noun instead of the vocative, then he/she'll be fine.

12. I believe that there are only one or two person(s) in this world that have the authority to lead us all to the right path, and those are the awaited Imam Mahdi and/or the awaited Messiah(s). I'm not either of them, but I hope that my views are not far from imam Mahdi, insha Allah.

Taurat, Injil, dan Al Furqan

Dia menurunkan Al Kitab (Al Qur'an) kepadamu (Muhammad) dengan sebenarnya; membenarkan kitab yang telah diturunkan sebelumnya dan menurunkan Taurat dan Injil, sebelum (Al Qur'an), menjadi petunjuk bagi manusia, dan Dia menurunkan Al Furqaan. Kita sudah tahu bahwa Kitab yang diturunkan kepada Nabi Muhammad adalah Al Quran. Tetapi apakah yang dimaksud dengan Taurat, Injil, dan Al Furqan ? Taurat dan Injil Pada umumnya, orang mengenal Kitab Taurat sebagai lima kitab pertama dari Perjanjian Lama (Pentateuch) , yaitu Kitab Kejadian, Keluaran, Imamat, Bilangan dan Ulangan ( Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy ) Sedangkan untuk Kitab Injil, o...

Doomsday Preppers

Sejak beberapa bulan yang lalu, saluran TV National Geographic Channel (NGC) menayangkan acara Doomsday Preppers, yaitu sebuah acara yang mengetengahkan persiapan beberapa warga Amerika dalam menghadapi bencana atau catastrophe yang akan terjadi versi mereka masing-masing. Ada yang mengantisipasi kolapse-nya perekonomian dunia, ada yang mengantisipasi perang nuklir, senjata biologis seperti cacar, terjadinya pergeseran kutub dlsb. Dalam situasi seperti tadi, mereka percaya bahwa orang-orang akan bertindak anarkis dan akan terjadi penjarahan, kemudian toko-toko akan kehabisan stok makanan dan persediaan lain. Oleh karena itu, para penyongsong "hari kiamat" atau doomsday preppers ini menyediakan makanan, air, dan tempat perlindungan yang memadai untuk mereka masing-masing, sesuai dengan bencana yang akan terjadi versi mereka sendiri. Gospel for the Gentiles

Dalam posting sebelumnya saya menyimpulkan bahwa Kitab Injil atau the Gospel sedianya ditujukan hanya untuk bangsa Yahudi saja. Bahkan, Injil yang asli kemungkinan ditulis dalam bahasa Ibrani, atau kalau menurut istilah Jerome disebut sebagai matthaei authenticum . Namun, karena sebagian besar bangsa Yahudi pada era Nabi Yesus menolak Yesus, maka kemudian kitab injil dialihkan kepada bangsa lain (bangsa gentiles ), dan kemudian Injil ditulis dalam bahasa gentiles , yakni bahasa Koine Greek. Lalu, karena Kitab Injil sudah diwariskan kepada bangsa gentiles, apakah berarti seluruh isi dari Kitab Injil itu harus juga dilaksanakan oleh pengikut Injil non-Yahudi alias pengikut Injil yang berasal dari bangsa gentiles ? Menurut saya tidak. Sebagian isi dari Kitab Injil tidak applicable bagi bangsa gentiles , contohnya seperti "You are the light of the World", tidak tepat kalau kata-kata ini ditujukan kepada bangsa gentiles.
