The Torah has a special place in my mind, because in my view it's the only Scripture that was confirmed by the following prophets (Jesus and Muhammad), and/or the following Scriptures (The Gospel and the Quran).
- Jesus confirmed the Torah. The Quran clearly states that Jesus confirmed the Torah. For example, Jesus says, "And I have come confirming that which was before me of the Torah ..." (Quran Sura 3:50, cf 5:46 and 61:6). The Gospel confirms this also in Matthew 5:17-19).
- The Quran confirms the Torah. For example, the Quran states."And believe in what I have sent down (this Qur'an), confirming that which is with you, the Torah" (Quran Sura 2:41, 89, 91, and 101, also 4:47). The phrase "confirming what is with you/them" refers to the Torah, since "you/them" here means the Jews, and the Scripture of the Jews is the Torah. And also please look at Quran Sura 46:12 and 30.
- Prophet Muhammad confirmed the Torah. It's narrated in Tafsir Qurthubi, when he explains Quran Sura Al Imran verse 23 as follows: One day, the Messenger of God cam to the Bait al Midrash, the place of the Jews when they study the Torah, so the Messenger of God asked them to return to God's teaching. One of them said, "What religion did you bring O Muhammad?". The Prophet said, "I stand on the religion of Abraham". Then they said, "Abraham was a Jew." The Prophet said, "Let us read the Torah, because that book (The Torah) is accepted by us and by you." But then they rejected him, so the verse was revealed.
How about other Scriptures, especially the Gospel and the Quran?
Well, nowhere in the Quran that it states explicitly and clearly that the The Quran confirms the Gospel. Not that I know of. After all, there are four canoncial gospels, and we don't know for sure which one is the closest to the original gospel, if any.
And for the Quran, it was compiled as a book around 20 years after the death of the Prophet. So, basically there was no prophet that could confirm whether the mushaf Uthmani is the original Quran as it was intended or not.
In conclusion, the Torah is the only Scripture that was confirmed by Jesus (and the Gospel) and prophet Muhammad (and the Quran).
